Ancient Greek (Classical, Koine, or Byzantine) is no longer spoken as a living language — it is studied for religious, academic, and classical literary purposes. Modern Greek (Νέα Ελληνικά) is the living language of approximately 13 million people in Greece and Cyprus today. While they share an alphabet and significant vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation differ considerably. How difficult is the Greek alphabet?
