What Unox Actually Offers Today
Three things that are true about the platform right now — no more than that.
Human teachers, live, 1-on-1
Every Unox lesson is a scheduled session with a person. There is no automated substitute and no self-study track — if there is no teacher for what you want, Unox has nothing to sell you.
Notes and homework in the platform
Teachers can write up notes and set homework after a lesson, kept alongside your bookings rather than in a separate document. Whether a given teacher uses it is up to them.
One language today: Chinese
Unox has teachers for Chinese and nothing else right now. For any other language Preply already has teachers and Unox does not — that is the honest state of it.
When Preply Is the Better Fit
For most people arriving from a search, it is. Here is where Preply has the clear advantage.
You are learning anything other than Chinese
Preply covers 50+ languages. Unox currently has teachers for Chinese only. If you want Spanish, French, English, Japanese, Korean, Arabic or anything else, Preply can help you today and Unox cannot.
You want a large teacher pool
Preply's marketplace is far bigger than Unox's, which means more teachers, more price points and far more scheduling options across time zones. If choice or a specific time slot is your constraint, that scale matters.
You want an established platform with apps you can install today
Preply has been operating for years, with iOS and Android apps and a support organisation to match. Unox is new, and its own mobile app is still in development — for now the browser is how you use it. If maturity and polish matter to you, that is a real difference and it favours Preply.
How Unox Is Set Up Differently
Unox is deliberately narrow: one language, a short teacher list, and lessons that carry their own notes and homework rather than living only in your calendar. That is a trade — depth of catalogue is exactly what it gives up. The platform does run group classes, but there are none on the timetable at the moment, so 1-on-1 is what you can actually book today.
Teachers join through an application that is reviewed before their profile is published, and they list their own qualifications on that profile. Unox does not currently verify those credentials independently, so read the profile and ask the teacher directly.
A teacher can set a reduced price for a first lesson with a new student. It is optional, and the price shows on the teacher's profile before you book.
