1. Introduction
Welcome to Unox ("we," "us," or "our"), operated at unox.chat. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Unox platform, including our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use the Service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or provide inaccurate information.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You shall not: (a) harass, abuse, or threaten other users or teachers; (b) upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts; (d) use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted; (e) interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts at our discretion.
4. Booking & Payments
Lesson bookings are made through the platform and are subject to teacher availability. Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider (Stripe). All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise stated. The platform charges a 7% commission on each transaction to cover operational and service costs. You agree to pay all fees associated with your bookings. Receipts and transaction records are available in your account dashboard.
5. Cancellation Policy
For lessons paid from your Unox balance: cancellations at least 12 hours before the scheduled start receive a full credit back to your balance; cancellations less than 12 hours before the start are not refunded (per platform allocation rules). Student no-shows are not refunded. If a teacher cancels, balance-paid lessons receive a full refund to your balance, and we will help you reschedule when possible. Payments made by card or other methods may follow separate refund rules from our payment provider—contact support if you are unsure. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in account restrictions.
6. Good Fit Guarantee
Where shown as eligible at checkout or in your account, your first completed paid lesson with each tutor on Unox may qualify for our "Good Fit Guarantee." You must submit a request through the in-platform flow within 24 hours after the lesson is marked complete. Unox will review claims under platform rules; where the guarantee applies, remedies may include account credit or other resolutions we describe in communications with you. This guarantee supplements—but does not replace—the cancellation policy for other lessons and the remainder of these Terms.
7. Teacher Terms
Teachers on Unox are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Unox. Teachers are solely responsible for the content and quality of their lessons, their tax obligations, and compliance with applicable laws. Unox does not guarantee any minimum number of bookings or income. Teachers agree to maintain professional conduct and accurate profile information. Unox retains a 7% commission from each completed lesson payment.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Unox platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and course materials provided by Unox, is the property of Unox or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Content provided by teachers remains the property of the respective teacher. All content is provided for educational use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Unox in the 12 months preceding the claim. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
