How immigration language prep works
A structured approach from diagnostic to exam day — built around your specific test and deadline.
Assess your current level
Your tutor runs a diagnostic in the first lesson. You leave with a clear gap analysis: which skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) need the most work and how far you are from the target band or level.
Build a study plan around your deadline
Visa and citizenship applications have hard deadlines. Your tutor maps a lesson schedule that accounts for your current level, the exam date, and your weekly availability — no generic textbook pace.
Practice exam-specific skills
Every exam has its own format, timing, and marking criteria. Immigration exams in particular penalize specific mistakes. Your tutor focuses on what the examiner actually scores.
Mock tests and feedback
Simulated full-length practice tests under timed conditions. Detailed feedback on each section. Pattern analysis of recurring errors. Score trajectory tracking as your deadline approaches.
Exam day strategy
Time management, question ordering, elimination strategies, and how to handle unexpected material. Your tutor has coached many students through the same exam — and knows where candidates lose marks unnecessarily.

Common questions
How early should I start language preparation before my visa application?
Ideally 6–12 months before your intended application date. Immigration language exams often have limited booking slots, especially in busy periods. Starting early also means you can retake the exam if needed without delaying your application.
My IELTS/Goethe result is expired. Do I need to retake it?
Most countries accept results valid within 2 years. UK SELT results are typically valid for 2 years. DELF (France) and Goethe B1 certificates have no expiry for naturalization purposes in Germany. Always verify with the specific authority processing your application.
Can I use a general IELTS result for a UK visa application?
No. UK visa applications require a SELT (Secure English Language Test) from an approved provider — standard IELTS Academic or IELTS General is not accepted. You must take IELTS for UKVI specifically, offered at UKVI-approved test centres.
What level do I need for Canadian Express Entry?
Most Express Entry streams require CLB 7 (roughly equivalent to IELTS 6.0 overall with 6.0 in each band). Higher scores earn more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. CLB 9+ (IELTS 7.0+) offers a significant points advantage.
Is there a language test for US citizenship?
There is no standardized test, but the USCIS naturalization interview is conducted in English. The officer evaluates your ability to read, write, and speak basic English. The civics test (100 questions, 6 of 10 answered correctly required) is also in English.
